Jaclyn Hill Morphe Palette

Yes, long time no see, and yes, I gave into the hype. Let’s get back into beauty blogging with a super hyped up palette!

If you don’t care about beauty or live under a rock, you have not heard about this. This is the Jaclyn Hill Palette from Morphe. I can go on and on about social media and controversy but let’s not and get straight to the important stuff.

Price: $38 but many YouTubers have Morphe discount codes to save you some money. I used “JACATTACK”

How many shades? 35 (2 Satin, 17 Matte, 14 Shimmer, and 2 Glitter).

I did not want to go crazy swatching because I wanted to get them onto my eyes! I swatched the first few that caught my attention.

L to R: Faint, Pooter, Obsessed, Silk Creme, Diva, and Jada.

They swatched beautifully, no surprise. I think I am obsessed with Obsessed! On to the looks.

Look 1:

This is NOT my go to look EVER. But since I have all these fun new shades at my disposal, I went a little crazy with this burnt orange/royal blue combo. I primed eyelids, used Enlight and Silk Creme all over lid. Next I used Roxanne in the crease and concentrated it more towards the outer corner. I packed Hunts onto the lid and blended back into the crease with Roxanne. Last, I swept Twerk on my lower lash line.

Look 2:

This is more of my typical go-to look. I used MFEO dusted all over lid and swept into crease. Then I packed Sissy into the inner half of my lid and Cranapple into the outer half of my lid. I blended Buns into the crease and went in with Chip to define the crease and outer V. Last, I used Beam and Silk Creme to lighten from inner corner up to the brow bone. I wanted some more shimmer so I lightly dusted 24/7 all over the lid.

Looks 3:

I started with Butter lightly in the crease. Then, I buffed Enchanted into the crease and swept it on the whole lid. Next, I pressed Diva onto the lid. Last, I blended Pooter above Enchanted in the crease.

Looks 4:

I wanted to do a “halo” look for this one. I put Central Park on the inner corner, outer corner, and blended in the crease. I placed SBN and Obsessed on the center of the lid. Next I took Central Park on the lower lash line, with SBN and Obsessed right in the center of the bottom lash line.

Final Thoughts

My favorite thing about this palette is that I feel like it will help me get out of my eyeshadow comfort zone. You know what I am talking about. No matter what palette you get, you always end up with the same 3 looks. There is a good mix of shades that I feel I can really do any look I could dream of!

One thing that surprised me was the size of the shadow pans. I was expecting smaller dime sized pans but they are about as big as a quarter, so bigger than I had imagined.

I do have two things I don’t love about the palette. I wish it had a mirror!! It would make it so much easier to do my eyeshadow. Also, I wish they put the names of the shades in the palette. They are just on a little card that came with the palette.

Overall, I am happy I decided to buy it when it was in stock for more than 5 minutes. I feel like I will definitely get my moneys worth out of this palette!

Too Faced Better Than Sex vs. L’Oreal Lash Paradise

too faced and loreal

Finally! I went to 5 different stores before I finally got my grubby little hands on L’Oreal’s new mascara, Voluminous Lash Paradise! It’s no secret that these products are very similar, from the packaging to the brush, but I put them to the test to see which is the victor of this mascara battle. Continue reading
